This is what I am wearing today: my skinny jeans, nude bow ballet flats, black cardigan, a white t-shirt accessorized with a red scarf and a fabulous tote. Since I pretty much looked like a wet rat after my son’s preschool field trip, I decided to show you my outfit via Polyvore.
Let’s just say that yesterday was gong show. It pretty much pissed rain the entire field trip. The teachers got the time wrong and we were an hour early. Imagine trying to entertain 20 4-5 year olds!!! Thankfully we were able to start a bit earlier. My son was a super star and so were the rest of the kids. I am so impressed at how patient they were. I have to thank 3 of the moms that I know that were my sanity’s saving grace. We all went around together which made it way more fun and tolerable. Next time I’m bringing Bailey’s in a thermos!!!!
I just don’t understand how people can be so disorganized (my son’s preschool teachers and the people running the Burnaby Village Museum). Thank God for the other moms who really made this wet field trip fun. Below are pictures of our wet escapade.

Riding the very fast carousel (I get motion sick very easily)
The teacher checking to see how clean the kids hands were
If you haven’t been to Burnaby Village Museum you should definitely check it out and take your kids when it’s not pissing rain. Although the rain sucked and it was disorganized, we did have a lot of fun. Plus you can get some ice cream as a treat at the end of it all. That’s what we did. A coffee for the moms and ice cream for the kids. Everyone left happy. Thanks again Lyn, Bonnie and Audrey for making this field trip bearable and fun.
Many of you have asked me how I style my hair. The long and short of it is that I don’t have to do anything but wash and wear. Now here’s the back story: before I had my son, I had an ugly wave in my hair, so I flat ironed it. After having my son, I accidentally discovered that my hair had become curly. I’ve heard of it happening to other people and that’s exactly what happened to me. I’ve always wanted curly hair, so I’m quite happy. All I do is wash my hair, dry it a bit in a towel and then using my hands crimp up my hair, let it dry a bit and then put some hairspray in it and let it dry. That’s it. Somedays it looks better than others, but that’s basically it. It sure makes styling my hair in the mornings easy.
Last but not least, after putting my son down for a nap and putting this post together, I decorated birthday cupcakes for an inner city school I volunteer at. Almost 2 years ago, I started making monthly cupcakes for the kids birthdays. These kids come from very poor homes where they sometimes don’t even have warm clothes for Winter. Every kid deserves to have their birthday celebrated and this is my way of giving back. So each month, I make different themed cupcakes. For both May and June, I decided to make sunflower cupcakes. Here they are:

May this blog inspire you to explore Burnaby Village Museum (preferably when it’s not pouring rain outside) and to give back to your community.

The field trip sounds great, even if it started wrong. Cool your hair is is easy to do, I’ve tried to do mine curly but it always looks crispy with the product I have to use
very cool about the cupcakes too, what a neat way to help out!
