Maxi Dress Altered

Here’s the story behind this maxi dress. I bought it last March from Old Navy and I was in love!!!! The colour, fit, style, everything, I just loved it. The problem was that it showed a bit too much cleavage for me. Not sure that showing so much cleavage would be appropriate for a play date. I wore it a few times, even tapped it so that it wouldn’t show so much of the ladies, but whenever I wore it, I felt self conscious. So finally I took it to get it stitched so that way I wouldn’t be so paranoid whenever I wore it. I’m so glad I did, because now I can finally wear it. Remember ladies if something doesn’t fit, get it altered!!!! It’s worth it. It only cost me $2 to get it fixed!!! You can see where it’s been sowed together, but I don’t mind because I feel more comfortable wearing it this way.

May this blog inspire you to get your clothes altered to fit you properly. I feel so much better wearing this dress. I’m no longer paranoid that I’m showing too much cleavage and that my ladies will hang out.

I often have clothes altered to fit and it’s so worth it if it’s an item you love. I had a maxi dress that was always a bit too long for me to wear flat sandals with it, I had it taken up last year dnd I’ve worn it so much more now this summer.

This dressooks great on you. Such a good colour.

I’m all about having a piece of clothing altered, especially if it means you are more comfy! I’m like you, I’m kind of self conscious when I wear low cut tops. I wish I could be like others that do and just don’t care…but I do! I love that dress BTW- It looks so good on you!

If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would not have even noticed the stitching. It looks like it was made that way and fits you like a glove! I have a maxi dress from Old Navy that does something similar. It’s not bad enough to need altering, but I totally know what you mean. It’s amazing what a difference fit makes.

THanks Amy. I was a bit paranoid that you could see the stitching but it’s still better than showing too much cleavage :)
